Episode 4: How You Show Up Matters: Why It's More Important Than You Think.

Hey, everyone! In my latest episode, I dive deep and get real with you all. I'm laying bare some hard truths about how I was once the problem in the workplace. Yup, I said it.

Today I’m diving deep into something I'm super passionate about - the influence of our presence in team settings. Whether you're the boss, or the newest member just starting out, your energy shapes the entire vibe of the team. Let's chat about how those tiny day-to-day interactions can either make or break the success of a team.

Key Insights:

  • Check yourself before you wreck... the vibe. Always good to do a quick mental check-in. How you're feeling and acting can really set the tone for the whole team.

  • Be welcoming and supportive for newcomers. Be intentional about helping new team members feel comfortable. And hey, a warm smile goes a long way for everyone, old or new!

  • Dive a little deeper. It’s so worth it taking the time to learn what makes our colleagues tick. Understanding each other's passions or even what they had for breakfast can truly bring us closer.

  • Take responsibility for your actions.  We all have moments in our lives that we are not proud of. When it happens, let’s just own it. Trust me, it only makes us more authentic and relatable.

  • Have each other’s backs. Notice someone having an off day? Be there for them. A kind word or a listening ear can turn things around.

  • Choices, choices, choices. Sometimes life throws curveballs. But here’s the kicker: we get to choose how we respond. It’s all about attitude.

Resources mentioned:

  • Inventing Anna on Netflix - it was NOT a documentary (as I mentioned in the show) but loosely based on the life of Anna Delvey
